Footnotes: We are pleased to introduce MRK Priority 3C, a recent addition to our programs. Our interest in this young herd sire prospect began when we saw the above picture of him and his mother when they won the Grand Champion Female award at the 2015 Manitoba Youth Round Up in August, 2015.
Owned and shown by Kolton McIntosh, a young enthusiastic cattleman from Manitoba, who purchased Priority's dam from Robb Farms at the 2014 Checkers Sale. Kolton grew up on a Simmental cattle ranch in Manitoba's Interlake region. He has always had an interest in the cattle business and has been involved with events such as Manitoba Youth Beef Round Up and the Young Canadian Simmentallers. He currently has Priority's mother in a successful transplant program and is working towards a career in the livestock auction business.
We were looking for a blaze-faced bull with a different bloodline and were impressed by this young bull's development and thickness at such an early age, combined with an excellent set of EPD's. His sire, Vision, is new to us and most of Canada, plus we had sold the Liner 56U daughter that is his granddam to Robb Farms. She has become an important cow for the Robb's and the cow family that produced her has been important for us.
We watched his progress into the fall, where he had an impressive record at Brandon's AG EX and Canadian Western Agribition (see photos and show record below.) Congratulations to Kolton and his parents for a job well done at the fall shows.
When the opportunity to purchase Priority privately became available, we were very pleased when we reached an agreement with Kolton. We think Priority has the potential to earn a very important place in our programs, and the industry.
Priority's first calves were offered in our 2018 Bull & Female Sale with five heifers selling for an average of $8,750 and a top of $15,000. Four Priority sons were well accepted averaging $7,500.
